Ich vermute, dass wir die Challenge nicht bis Sonntag Abend beendet bekommen - haben bis jetzt ungefähr 1/3 geschafft.
Ich finde, das ist schon eine ganze Menge.
Warum ich heute schreibe: ich fände es gut, wenn diese Challenge (falls sie diese Woche nicht beendet werden sollte) auch weiterhin bestehen bleibt. Die anderen Workflows kann ich nämlich größtenteils nicht lesen (Sütterlin, Kyrill, allgemein Handschrift). Und in der Challenge sind jetzt langsam die Handgriffe vertraut (plus Taste für “Straße /Hausnummer” und nicht Tab und weiter tippen).
Wenn es nach mir geht: ich mag “unvollendetes” nicht und würde auch die Zugfahrt in den Urlaub nächste Woche dafür noch weiter nutzen etc. Und halt gerne den Workflow abschließen.
Das ist der Grund, warum ich jetzt ein Feedback schreibe - in der Hoffnung, das Team Arolsen noch darauf reagieren kann.
Feedback zur Challenge allgemein:
was mich sehr gefreut hat, war das der Workflow insgesamt gut vorbereitet war und das (im Vergleich zu 2025) nach meinem Gefühl Team Arolsen besser erreichbar war. Es war sehr angenehm, das zb von Elke auch Kommentare des Dankes gepostet wurden wenn ich neuen Personen geantwortet hatte. Das hat mir ein Gefühl von Wertschätzung gegeben - und zu sehen, dass die Arbeit der Community im Forum von Team Arolsen anerkannt wird. (Dankeschön dafür)
Bis auf ein paar Kleinigkeiten war bzw ist der Workflow gut zu bearbeiten - und nicht so ein Chaos wie die Challenge letztes Jahr.
Ich denke, das sieht man auch an den relativ wenigen Rückfragen “von neuen Menschen” hier.
Gut, ich weiß natürlich nicht, ob dieses Jahr eine ähnliche Zahl an Personen mitgemacht hat und ob die “Statistik” dem entspricht.
Zwei Sachen die ich für ähnliche Workflows anmerken möchte:
Die “administrative Ebene der Herkunftsadresse / Adresse”:
Mir ist das ganz oft passiert, dass ich mühsam einen Begriff entziffert hatte und getippt und dabei stand der Cursor noch im Feld “Staat /Stadt /Hausnummer…” und ich hatte das noch nicht ausgewählt. Ich weiß nicht, wie allgemein die Erfahrung damit ist - ich hätte es praktisch gefunden, wenn die Felder bereits vorgegeben gewesen wären und ich direkt mit Tab in die entsprechende Zeile hätte springen können. Das sind einfach zusätzliche Handgriffe und durch eigenen Fehler fast immer 2x Ort /Straße tippen war umständlich.
Ich habe um die 150 Dokumente erfasst und kein einziges hatte Angehörige die nicht Ehefrau/Ehemann waren. Sprich, die letzte Seite war für mich “sinnlos”.
Insgesamt fand ich den Workflow für eine Challenge passend. Ich bin mir nicht sicher, ob wir letztes Jahr mehr Dokumente erfasst hatten und deswegen ein recht großer Workflow ausgespielt wurde. Immerhin hat Team Arolsen reagiert und offen kommuniziert über das 10-Augen (von 5 Personen erfassen lassen) Prinzip und die Reduktion auf die üblichen 6-Augen (3 Personen). Glaub, das half mir sehr mit der Motivation!

Feedback Challenge 2026 Feedback already? Yes! I don’t think we’ll finish the challenge by Sunday evening—we’ve only managed about a third of it so far.
I think that’s quite a lot.
Why I’m writing today: I think it would be good if this challenge (if it’s not finished this week) were to continue. I can’t read most of the other workflows (Sütterlin, Cyrillic, handwriting in general). And I’m slowly getting used to the challenge (plus the key for “street/house number” instead of tab and continue typing).
If it were up to me: I don’t like “unfinished” things and would even use the train ride to my vacation next week to continue working on it, etc. And I would like to complete the workflow.
That is why I am now writing feedback—in the hope that Team Arolsen can still respond to it.
Feedback on the challenge in general:
I was very pleased that the workflow was well prepared overall and that (compared to 2025) I felt that Team Arolsen was more accessible. It was very nice that Elke, for example, posted comments of thanks when I replied to new people. That gave me a feeling of appreciation – and to see that the work of the community in the forum is recognized by Team Arolsen. (Thank you for that.)

Apart from a few minor details, the workflow was and is easy to work with—and not as chaotic as last year’s challenge.
I think this is also evident from the relatively few queries “from new people” here.
Of course, I don’t know whether a similar number of people participated this year and whether the “statistics” reflect this. Two things I would like to note for similar workflows:
The “administrative level of the origin address/address”: It often happened to me that I had laboriously deciphered and typed a term, but the cursor was still in the “State/City/House number…” field and I hadn’t selected it yet. I don’t know how common this experience is, but I would have found it practical if the fields had already been pre-filled and I could have jumped directly to the corresponding line with the tab key. These are simply additional steps, and due to my own mistake, I almost always had to type the city/street twice, which was cumbersome.
I entered around 150 documents and not a single one had relatives who were not a spouse. In other words, the last page was “pointless” for me.
Overall, I found the workflow suitable for a challenge. I’m not sure if we had more documents to process last year and that’s why the workflow was quite large. At least Team Arolsen responded and communicated openly about the 10-eyes principle (captured by 5 people) and the reduction to the usual 6-eyes (3 people). I think that helped me a lot with my motivation!
