In 1929 he graduated from the Teachers’ Seminary in Panevėžys, and from a wood-carving school in Czechoslovakia. He taught at the Šančiai Pro-Gymnasium in Kaunas, and from 1933 to 1936 at the Marijampolė School of Crafts. 1936-1939 - Director of the Ukmergė School of Crafts (he built the school building), later Vice-Director of the Kaunas School of Crafts. 1936-1939 - Commander of the Young Lithuanians of Ukmergė district. In 1937 he won a silver medal at the World Art Exhibition for his sculpture Rūpintojėlis (carved on the model of the sculptor B. Pundzius; preserved in the National Museum of Fine Arts in Moscow). M. In 1939 he moved to Austria, later he moved to the USA. From 1949 he worked in various factories. He had his own workshop, where he carved church sculptures, chapel statues and applied decorative arts.

He participated in Lithuanian social activities: from 1967 to 1971 he was the chairman of the Chicago chapter of the Lithuanian American National Union, later he was active in the Lithuanian American community, and for a while he was the chairman of the Chicago chapter of the Lithuanian American Council.
