#ship

#ship name could be a typo for „SS Volendam“:

„From 27 May 1946, the Dutch government chartered Volendam as a troop ship for the Dutch East Indies.[3] In February 1947 she carried Dutch emigrants to Australia. She was then refitted as an emigrant ship, with dormitory berths for 1,500 passengers, all of one class.[71] On one voyage she carried 2,307 Russian Mennonite emigrants from Bremerhaven to Buenos Aires. They joined the Mennonites in Paraguay, founded a settlement, and named it „Colonia Volendam“ after the ship“

Departure date was likely Oct 1st:

It seems you are right about the „Volendam“.
I just had this card of a Mennonite refugee with the same details of departure (date, destination…)

more details about the Volendam and her meaning as for Mennonite emigrants:

As for the date of departure: I read 6 oct. 1948 (in „my“ card). Also see Mrs Feldmanis’ date of arrival: 02.10.1948

Maybe this is her in the passenger list of the „Volendam“, arriving in Argentina on 28.10.1948:
FELDMANIS- SZARMANS, Elizabete, 42 y (in 1948)
next to her name: FELDMANIS, Alksejs (12 y), maybe her daughter/ relative? the name crossed out in this card?

Enjoy your weekend!

Likely you´re right, and the date in the Arolsen card (see my post) is another variety of the date of arrival.
Same to you (ich muss morgen arbeiten …)
