What could „Elsa“ mean? ( in „Austrittsgrund“)
Living and working conditions at the Adlerwerke seem to have been extremely hard.
I hope she returned.

Maybe Elsa means:
Els (e.g. ‘ ’, i.e. Elsnig) Elsnig Concentration Camp (i.e. also often referred to as Elsnig/Elbe”;
a subcamp of Buchenwald for women located adjacent to an explosives
factory run by the Westfälische-Anhaltinische Sprengstoff AG company
[also known as “WASAG”] where the inmates labored; often seen

According to his Arolsen documents, he was born in Hoboken (Antwerp, Belgium) on Mar (Feb ?) 15, 1914 and was married to Rosalie van DRIESSEN (*29.11.1915). They had one child.
He returned.

„In Mainz wohnten u.a. mehrere Kinder aus Weißrussland auf dem Wohnschiff „Elsa“, das im Floßhafen an der Ingelheimer Aue ankerte und „Ostarbeiterinnen“ der Firma Erdal und weiterer kleinerer Betriebe im dortigen Industriegebiet als Unterkunft diente. Auf dem Schiff waren bis zu 74 sowjetische Frauen, manche nur für einige Wochen, untergebracht; die Zahl der Kinder, die hier leben mussten, ist nicht überliefert.“
