Could the stamped circle next to his date of death mean that he was missing (and maybe declared dead later?) -
„Vermisst“ (missing) is found in some of his other arolsen documents, his date of death is given as 24.08.1944 (e.g. here - but I can’t decipher the first 2 words of the handwritten note, maybe missing after a bomb attack?) There was an US air raid on 24.08.1944.
doubts - different dates of birth:
27.05.1897 or 27.03.1897 (according to his arolsen documents) / 21.05.1897 (see source below)
Alois KOZLER, born in Rokycany (Czechia) in 1897
Worker in a ceramic factory in Litohlavy, road worker, Communist Party member, supported the families of the arrested, he was himself arrested on 23.3.1943, imprisoned in Pilsen and then Terezín. He died in the Buchenwald concentration camp.
In 1965 he was appointed an honorary citizen of Rokycany. (source)
i read „Bomb. Angr.“ but probably biased because I read it your notes, before looking at the card.
That could be it, thank you! -
Here is the card of another victim of the air raid (24.08.1944) with the same stamp.
The two names are in this list of prisoners reported missing after the attack and taken off strength on Aug 30, 1944.
