Max Mayer POUTCHITS, born in Warsaw on 10.10.1892, residence in Grenoble, Paris
naturalized in France in 1928, see document
I do hope he survived. The evidence below suggests this, but I don’t know what happened to him after Buchenwald.
Fact: He arrived in Buchenwald on 26 Jan 1945 (from Auschwitz)

Thanks for adding this puzzle piece, @carola.b !
Have a good evening!
I was walking in Belleville Cemetery in Paris today when I noticed the Poutchits gravestone; it interested me, so I searched online about the family, and found your post. Max Mayer Poutchits lived until 1973. His wife Marie Mathilde Hercberg Poutchits, their son Paul, and their daughter Rosette are memorialized on the stone as well. I’m attaching the photo I took. I live in Paris, so I’d be happy to take better photos of the stone sometime if you like. I’ll let you know if I find out more about the family. Best wishes, Todd Mecklem
Good morning,
What a contrast between the small piece of paper with just numbers and a name and the beautifully designed gravestone! And it’s good to have further confirmation that Mr. Poutits survived.
Thanks a lot for your interest and for sharing the photo and the moments behind it here in the forum. - Of course all kinds of contributions (to discussions, documents etc.) are always welcome here on ENC.
Best wishes to Paris!
