Yes, there seem to be quite a few cities and companies with strange memory lapses. 
But fortunately, there are dedicated people who are not willing to accept this, such as the authors of this list of so-called „Ostarbeiter/Eastern workers“ in Nürnberg.
There I found these two young women who had to work for Paul Metz in Fürth (pp. 52 and 258). - Judging by their names, there might be a connection to the person on this postcard.

Absolutely, especially when they are sharing their company history on their website - it just seems off.
