Jan Hendrik AALBERTS #dutch

Allow me to disagree with you. The person you selected was born in Zetten.

This Jan Hendrik Aalberts was born in Valburg:

Father; Jan Hendrik Aalberts

Mother: Hendrika Wichelo

Hi @carola.

Are you sure?

The Jan on this card was 9 months old in 1945.

and

Thank you for pointing out the distance between Valburg and Zetten.
However, the card specifically mentions Valburg. This means there has to be a relationship between Valburg and the person concerned (birth, residence, etc.).

It so happens that Jan Hendrik Aalberts and Hendrika Wichelo got married in Valburg on 01.07.1943 and that Hendrika gave birth to a son who received the name Jan Hendrik Aalberts (see my first link). Nothing excludes that this little boy was 9 months old in 1945.

Had Jan Hendrik Aalberts been born or residing in Zetten, this would have been specified on his card, since the clerk took the trouble to specify his connection to Valburg, a very small village in the province of Gelderland.

Why does Jan Hendrik Aalberts, a baby, even has a card? Was he deported? Was he displaced?
In 1945, during and after the operation Market Garden, there were heavy fights between the Allied and the Germans in this region where many villages were practically destroyed. Many civilians were evacuated to limit casualties or because their houses were bombed. Jan Hendrik Aalberts was probably evacuated.
