Paula BUCHASTER (SPEIER) née FALEK, born in Dresden (D) on 27.06.1912
She was married to Jacob BUCHASTER, born 13.10.1907 in Leipzig (D)
They lived in Leipzig and had a son, Manfred BUCHASTER (born 19.09.1938)
In July 1939 the family fled to Italy, but were interned in the Ferramonti di Tarsia camp.
In 1944 Paula and her husband were deported to Auschwitz. Jakob died there.
Their son Manfred who had been left in the care of an Italian family was eventually captured by the SS and disappeared.
Paula was liberated in Bergen-Belsen and must have spent some time in Sweden (see this document and the note in the card)
She emigrated to the US and got married to Hermann SPEIER who had also survived the Holocaust.
She died in New York in 1994.
