Frida and her daughter Lisa, who were both British citizens, were arrested on 15 January 1943 and imprisoned in Bredtveit prison. A week later they were transferred to Grini prison camp. From here, Frida, Lisa and their son Leopold (who was also a British citizen) were deported on the ship Lapland on 15 February 1943. They eventually ended up in the German internment camp for Allied civilian prisoners in the town of Vittel in northern France. Frida Segal died here on 9 April 1944.
