Helene KUEHNEL (KÜHNEL) (* 1897-10-11)

She had a brother-in-law, Dr. Aladar GELEHRTER (the applicant on the CLI Card), who writes the following text on her:

[…] Miss Helene Kühnel [is] about
49 years old and a citizen of Czechoslovakia. She is my
wife’s half-sister and according to the message I received
by wire from Czechoslovakia, is being kept interned by the
U.S. Army authorities in Marianské Lazne (Marienbad) in
Western Czechoslovakia. The wire gives the name of the place
in this town as Villa Kuttenberg.
The last time we heard from Miss Helene Kühnel was in a
letter dated October 25, 1941, written in Schluckenau, a small
town in North Bohemia where she spent her vacation. Since
then we habe been without any communication other than the
receipt of the wire advising us of her internment.
