Ben erg benieuwd of iemand me verder kan helpen.
In ieder geval alvast bedankt.
Lucy
N.B. Sophia is mijn oud tante (zus van mijn opa)

Hey Lucy,

welcome to #EveryNameCounts, and thanks for your question!

If you want a full answer to your question, you will most likely need to contact the archive directly (Submit your Inquiry - Arolsen Archives).

But I can give your first question: (I’ve collected information on the Lists from the CLI, you can find more general information here: List Material of the Central Location Index)
The Card is made from a Transport List (S 170, lower left corner), which was a collection of names of Persons released from Terezin, and transported to Switzerland (a total of 1210 Persons).

The List is located today at Yad Vashem, and digitised: https://collections.yadvashem.org/en/documents/9653797

(I’ve marked the entry in the list)

Lukas

Hello Lucy!

Thank you for your message! It means a lot to me that you are trying to find out more about your great aunt.

This is her story:

Your great aunt was deported from Westerbork to Theresienstadt on 04-09-1944. She was interned in Theresienstadt from 06-09-1944 until 05-02-1945

On 5 February 1945, after negotiations with Swiss politician Jean-Marie Mussy, Himmler released a transport of 1,200 Jews (mostly from Germany and Holland) from Theresienstadt to neutral Switzerland; Jews on this transport travelled in Pullman passenger cars were provided with various luxuries, and had to remove their Star of David badges. Jewish organisations deposited a ransom of 5 million Swiss francs in escrowed accounts.
