Can you find her, @moewenzahn ?
Sorry, @velthove1, no way … there is one link online but I´m not on FB and can´t get access to it: Arolsen Archives - Registrierungskarten von 1,7 Millionen Menschen online!
Solfrid Astrid Irene LARSEN,
said to be born in Pernitz (Bezirk Wiener Neustadt, Austria) (with typo Sernitz in some documents) in May 1944 or 1945, most likely in a so-called „Lebensborn“ facility (there was one near Pernitz), see this FB post of her half-brother.
Her Arolsen documents:
https://collections.arolsen-archives.org/en/search/person/79386889?s=79386889&t=2908085&p=0
https://collections.arolsen-archives.org/de/search?s=larsen%2005%2F25%2F1944
with DOB 20.05.1945 in this list, together with Mälfried Larsen, 03.08.1905, Transö - Molfried Larsen, 03.08.1915, Sörnisse – (rather doubtful DOBs/POBs) - Larsen, Harald (*03.02.1939, maybe a brother?)
The four of them with POR in Jägerstr. 9a, Mannheim (as mentioned in this document)
Most of the documents in the archive are quite confusing as for name(s) of her mother? / her foster mother and applicant in the card? / the person accompanying the girl?
I found this Norwegian woman:
Målfrid Aanning „[…]Norwegian survivor […], born in Sørreisa, northern Norway on August 3, 1915 to Rikarda (Hansen) and Hans Karlsen. […] preceded in death by two husbands, Johan Larsen and Bjarne Aanning; daughter, Astrid Pocekay […]“ She died Sept. 2013 in Yankton (USA)
(source, unfortunately not accessible from Europe, so above quote is from visible fragments on the google search site)
This would explain Malfrid’s varying last names on the Arolsen documents: Karlsen (maiden name), Larsen (1st husband’s last name, maybe Astrid’s father?) Aanning (2nd husband’s last name)
I think this is her:
Malfrid AANING (KARLSEN)
see genicom here and here
and with associate named Astrid Pocekay here
Her husband:
Martin Bjarne AANNING
see genicom here
Born in Norway, he emigrated to the US, probably in 1931 (source)
Is he the UNRRA officer from the CLI card, mentioned as husband of the applicant Solfried (?),
This might be the boy Harald from the Arolsen list above
Harald Lars AANNING, born February 1939,
see here and here
What became of the girl from the card?
Did she arrive in New York in December 1949? (see here)
I only found Astrid POCEKAY née AANNING, said to be the daughter of Malfried and Martin Bjarne Aanning. (source)
But her date of birth is given as 14.05.1947.
So her fate remains mysterious.
And the golden Terrier goes to …
Fantastic, routebleue, this must have been a great effort, thanks a lot!
The results of the recent state elections can sometimes let a lapdog loose…
It´s very frightening that this has a long tradition in our region:
