Betti Frank was born Wohl on 22/11/1903 in Brody (Poland). She is the wife of Max Frank. They had four children, Robert born in 1929, Mireille born in 1934, Marcel born in 1936 and Charles born in 1938. Before the war, the family lived at 29 rue Pasteur in Metz (Moselle). When war broke out, they were evacuated to Royan (Charente-Maritime). Betti Franck, her husband Max, and their children Mireille, Marcel and Charles, were arrested on 09/11/1942 at Festalemps (Dordogne) where they were under house arrest, before being interned at the Drancy camp (Seine-Saint-Denis). They were deported on convoy 40, which left the Drancy camp on 04/11/1942 for Auschwitz-Birkenau (Poland). Robert was separated from his family in October 1942 in Angoulême (Charente), where he survived in hiding.
