Herczeg (1888 Nagykanizsa, Österreich-Ungarn - 1954 Rome/Italy); was a writer, journalist, librettist (for example „Wenn die Elisabeth nicht so schöne Beine hätt“, together with Karl Farkas).
After the Anschluss in 1938 he permanently lived in New York and Los Angeles.
He received the Academy Award (= Oscar) for „Best Adapted Screenplay“ at the 1938 Academy Awards for his screenplay for William Dieterle’s The Life of Emile Zola, co-written with Norman Reilly Raine and Heinz Herald (compare the wikipedia-source)
