Rakel Leah Glick (née Bekker) was born in Lithuania on 17 November 1882, to parents Eva (née Isaksen) and Abel Bekker. She came to Norway in 1903, and married Kalman Glick in 1907. Together they had two children; Eve and Isaac. The couple ran the men’s clothing store R. Bekker.
The man Kalman was arrested in October 1942 and put in the Falstad prison camp. Here he was shot in November 1942. Rakel was arrested two weeks later, during the campaign against Jewish women and children. She was transported to Bredtveit prison in Oslo, and deported on the ship „Gotenland“ on 24 February 1942. With her were her daughter Eva and her son Harry Simon. On arrival in Auschwitz on 3 March 1943, Rakel was sent directly to the gas chambers and killed.
