Albert Bos was born in Pekela. He is known as a labourer and is a member of the Communist Party of the Netherlands (CPN). When the CPN is banned during the war, he remains involved in the illegal activities of the communists. He distributes the communist magazine Het Noorderlicht in the Pekela area, as do his comrades Kornelus Baas, Geert Bruintjes, Georg Steinfelder and Hindrik Wiekens.

Albert was arrested on 3 September 1941. He managed to escape, but to no avail: on 27 October 1941, he was arrested by the Sicherheitsdienst. Via Amersfoort and Buchenwald, he ended up in the SS labour camp Gross-Rosen. In that labour camp, prisoners were forced to perform hard labour in the granite mines. The food rations were poor and the camp guards were extremely harsh. All this proved fatal for Albert on 2 August 1942. He died at the age of 29.
