includes a letter from his foster daughter - writing about her father
- born in Ukraine in Kamjanez-Podilskyj
- by 1917 his father was arrested - mother got sick - the family fell apart
- spent his childhood without a home
- was sent to the children labour colony in Arkhangelsk (Russia)
- served in Soviet-Finnish war 1939-1940
- served in World War II
- captured - POW
- imprisoned in Buchenwald
- repatriated to Arkhangelsk - (Konveyor - NKVD (labour camp - part of the GULAG system)[1]
- went through Soviet filtration camp
- to avoid arrest - moved to Morkinsky District
- had a family
- worked as a car mechanic
- „loved life and believed that justice will prevail“
- died in 1997
