I realized that some Stutthof numbers start with 0/zero in these cards.
But in the archive they are also given differently (on the envelope and/or the search function)
In this case it’s 104171, see here.
Any explanation for this? Is one of these numbers incorrect?
Hello routebleue,
that’s a good question why some prisoner numbers of the Stutthof Concentration Camp start with a 0.
Spontaneously, I unfortunately have no idea, but I will gladly ask the question in our team.
But maybe someone here also has an idea and would like to share it with us.
The prisoner number 104171 has not been entered correctly, unfortunately we have an error in our data, but we will correct it.
Thank you very much for your support!
Greetings
Elke
Hallo Elke,
Uschi
Thanks for answering!
Maybe numbers starting with zeros are a problem for the system so that the „1“ in front is created automatically as seen in the search function of the archive? I have run into several cases (only today) and just found another example in the Stutthof workflow:

So I agree with u.sch!
Greetings to both of you!
Thank you for your thoughts. : )
We also looked again and found that from 100000 onwards, the number starts with a 0 each time.
Why this was done in Stutthof is (still) unclear.
Greetings,
Elke
