Her sister, Franziska Bär née Rosenstein was born on 30 March 1892 in Oedheim. Her parents were Josef (1855-1908) and Sophie Rosenstein née Maier (1868-1942) and the family lived there for generations. Around 1900, the family moved to Weinsberg, where Josef Rosenstein became wealthy as a cattle dealer and owned a large house. After his father’s death, they moved to Heilbronn, where Franziska was still living when she married Fritz Bär in 1919. Franziska, known as „Franze“, had seven siblings: Lina (1888-1945), Helene (1890-1989, married name Kahn), Mina (1893-1975, married name Harsch), Ludwig (1896-1961), Max (1897-1938), Fritz (1900-1956) and Wilhelm (1905-1964). Most of her siblings emigrated to the USA in the 1920s. After she married, she was a housewife and lived at Schwimmbadstrasse 17 in a well-furnished four-room flat. Shortly before she was deported on 22 October 1940, she moved to Bismarckstrasse 5, which was probably related to the law on tenancies with Jews of 30 April 1939. In an application in the restitution file, the daughter Resi Bär reported that her parents’ flat had been completely demolished. Her sofa, for example, was completely trampled on and the cushions were used to play football in the street. After Franziska had lived in Gurs for almost two years, she was transferred to Dran-cy on 6 August 1942. She was then deported from Drancy to Auschwitz on 10 August 1942, which is why there is no clear date of death.
